During sports season and well, most of the school year I spend quite a lot of time by myself. I guess kind of by choice, but I just don't have a lot of free time to hangout with friends so I've become very good friends with myself. It actually is enjoying to hangout with myself because I'm hilarious and I don't annoy myself so it's perfect. Enjoying yourself is the first thing you have to do to be able to enjoy others. In life you aren't going to always be surrounded by other people and you need to depend on yourself to have your back sometimes because other people aren't as reliable. I don't mind, at least I'm finding the perks of being a wallflower.

Book Addiction
The long week is coming to an end and I once again have my face burried in another book. Perks of Being a Wallflower. Oh. My. Gosh. Without reading the book, yes, there is a movie, but it's not half as amazing as the book. As I read, it makes me look at highschool/my life from a different perspective. I realize now that I'm somewhat of a wallflower and I'm perfectly okay with that. (When I say "wallflower" I am referring to someone who is more of a listener or rather than a talker. I mean, I talk a lot, but I also enjoy just listening and watching because you can learn a lot from just observing other people).

I've really been wanting to read that book! I'm glad you did a post on it.
ReplyDeleteI actually just bought this book Saturday night! I am so excited to read it because I loved the movie! Now I know for sure that it's going to be great!
ReplyDeleteGreat advice! I think we are all somewhat wallflowers. Though I do disagree with you, the movie was just as awesome as the book, partially because the author wrote and directed it. With the book it's a little more unique, but you don't get the great music from the movie which makes the story 10 times better. I really enjoy your writing, you should consider it for a career.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read the book but I watch the movie and I can say I liked the movie (:
ReplyDeleteI loved the movie but everyone who I've talked to that has read the book has loved it. I'll have to read it sometime.
